It’s a frequently asked question can Petites wear long dresses and look good many will say no they should stick to shorter length dresses but i think this is wrong i think you have to be more careful about the style of dress you choose and avoid too much heavy detail but there’s no reason why petites can’t wear long dresses and look fantastic.

Eva longoria at the Cannes film festival.   Fitted dresses with a fishtail look great on petites.  The tail of the dress helps to create the illusion of height.

Mila Kunis 5ft3″ at the 2011 Academy awards.  A dress with a high waist is another good way to lengthen a petite frame.

Kylie.  Stick to block colours more colours tend to overpower a petite frame.  If you want to wear prints stick to a small print.

Kristin Chenoweth 4ft11″ at The Oscars.  Black is a flattering colour to wear for anyone and petites alike.

In conclusion.  Petites can look great in long dresses, 

• Stick to slimmer fitting dresses.
• Don’t go over the top with detail.
• Stick to Block colours.
• Trains and fishtails give the illusion of height.
• Dresses cinched in at the high waist also give an illusion of height.
• If you want to wear prints, stick to small prints.

Don’t forget years ago people on average where smaller in height and they all wore long dresses.  So don’t listen to those who say you can’t wear them choose the right style for and you’ll look great.
