I came across this bit of news and as it a very rare occurrence i thought i would share. Tomorrow the 21st December for the first time in 400 years there will be a total Lunar Eclipse coinciding with the winter solstice. The sky will turn a deep red colour tomorrow morning. The last time this was seen was in 1638 and the next one will be in 2094. ( Read more )

Toys of yesteryear are some of the best around from Barbie’s to Trivial Pursuit we all remember toys from our childhood many of which are still around today. I remember the Furby coming out they sold out in a matter of days, everyone was desperate to get their hands on them reminded me of the action toy in the movie Jingle all the Way, with people on a mad dash to buy them in time for Christmas. Can’t believe it’s October already and as it’s the month of Halloween we have changed the background of our blog to celebrate. These days on Halloween we dress up in spooky costumes, have parties and watch scary movies but Halloween has been around for many many so how did Halloween come about?
Halloween originated from an ancient Celtic festival named Samhain, pronounced sow-in which marked the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter. The Celts celebrated their new year in November and believed new years eve (31st October) blurred the boundary between the living and the dead and was the one night where the ghosts of the deceased could return to earth. The festival was made up of bonfires and costumes and masks were worn to impersonate the spirits. ( Read more )
