Retro and Vintage eyeliner

Eyeliner is popular today and is a big part of the retro and vintage look along with the red lipstick but it was in Egypt where it was first used. The Ancient Egyptians used eyeliner around their eyes to protect the eyes from the sand from the desert. Eyeliner is quite versatile and can be used to achieve many different looks.

There are 5 different types of eyeliner available.

Kohl eyeliner
Gel eyeliner
Felt tip eyeliner
Liquid eyeliner
pancake/water based eyeliner

Throughout the ages eyeliner has been used in a unique way in the 1920′s wore thick eyeliner that covered most of the eyelid the 1940′sand 1950′s saw the cat like flick eyeliner and the 1960s saw a thicker cat flick. Today eyeliner is as popular as ever with all groups of people, Emo’s, Goth’s and Punk’s and now with the invention of guyliner the eyeliner is prob the most used product in your make up bag.
