Retro is huge at the moment but what does it mean?
Retro comes from the Latin prefix retro meaning “backwards”. In fashion it is used to describe clothes from the past that have become the norm once again. Today most of the clothes we wear take some inspiration from the past decades. Clothes from the 20′s, 30′s, 40′s, 50′s, 60′s, 70′s, 80′s are now as popular as ever so get raiding your wardrobes and bring back the glamour of the past.
The dictionary says:
1. retroactive: retro pay.
2. of or designating the style of an earlier time: retro clothes.
