The 1940s has to be my favourite decade fashion and style wise. From the tea dresses to the evening dresses this decade radiated style. As in the 1920s the war influenced the fashions of the 1940s. Everything was rationed due to the war and they had to make do and mend what they already had but they still all made an effort to look their best. Hair was usually curled and pinned back so it was practical but still looked good, pancake make up was worn on the face along with lipstick which sold out very quickly due to limited supplies.
