Make up during the 1960′s was very bold and dramatic, eyes were exaggerated and a focal point of the face. Black, whites and greys, the popular choices of colour used for the eyes. Day time make up wasn’t as bold as on an evening but still more dramatic than other decades. Looking at old photos the eye make up of this decade looks so detailed it must of taken some time to do. Nicknamed Twiggy because of her slender appearance Leslie Hornby born in Twickenham, England was the most famous supermodel of the late sixties. At the age of just 17 she took the modelling world by storm and even had a Imitation Barbie was issued in 1967 (Source IMDB) Covering magazines such as Vogue and Tatler Twiggy defined the “flower power” age. Later moving on to TV and film and back to modelling you can now see Twiggy on the Marks and Spencer’s advert.
