Vintage was originally used to describe what year a bottle of wine was bottled.   Later on it was used to describe old cars and eventually, to describe fashion and clothing as well. Vintage in  fashion means fashions of the past and classic feminine fashions,  usually meaning clothes of 20 years or older.  ( Read more )

Retro

Retro is huge at the moment but what does it mean?

Retro comes from the Latin prefix retro meaning “backwards”.  In fashion it is used to describe clothes from the past that have become the norm once again. Today most of the clothes we wear take some inspiration from the past decades.   Clothes from the 20′s, 30′s, 40′s, 50′s, 60′s, 70′s, 80′s are now as popular as ever so get raiding your wardrobes and bring back the glamour of the past.

Petite

Petite is the French word for small or little,  today it is used in the fashion industry when referring to clothes to fit women of a petite stature of 5ft3″ and under.  Petite refers to the height of a person rather than their weight.
